Consumer Claims Tribunal resolves over 8,400 Claims
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- Consumer Claims Tribunal Malaysia (TTPM) resolved 8,478 claims in the first ten months of the year, said Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry on its website (www.kpdnkk.gov.my).

Of the total, 3,721 claims were resolved by withdrawal, arbitration (3,311) and the remaining via negotiation.

TTPM received 8,827 consumer claims of which 4,611 involved service and the rest were for product.

Umrah package was highest in service category with 428 claims followed by housemaid (405), treatment/beauty (403), car workshop (402) and travel agency (370).

For products, furniture was highest with 523 claims followed by mobile phone (519), car (497), lucky draw/ scratch and win (405) and electrical goods (290).

The website said the ministry received 9,584 complaints from consumers of which 5,869 were resolved.

Meanwhile, the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) has successfully resolved 848 of 1,008 complaints received during the period.
